Colin M. Fritsch notably was a member of the many teams that designed, developed and launched GPS and Viking (the first satellite to explore the planet Mars)
PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 18, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Colin M. Fritsch with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Fritsch celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Fritsch is a retired aerospace engineer who most recently served as a senior staff engineer of aerospace and defense at Lockheed Martin Corporation in King of Prussia, PA between 1993 and 2013. Previously, he worked for 16 years with Martin Marietta Corporation in Denver as a staff engineer. Mr. Fritsch also held roles at General Dynamics in Orlando, FL, Honeywell Aerospace in Clearwater, FL, and the Naval Avionics Facility in Indianapolis between 1971 and 1977.
Responsible for numerous contributions to the field, Mr. Fritsch notably was a member of the many teams that designed, developed and launched GPS and Viking (the first satellite to explore the planet Mars), having contributed to multiple classified military satellites, satellite interfaces and designs with space shuttles, and classified internet and cloud computing designs and enhancements. One of the highlights, he noted, included a satellite project that he had worked on alongside approximately 1,000 colleagues. When the satellite was launched in the middle of the night, he and approximately 400 of his colleagues watched it live on a large video screen at Martin Marietta Corporation in Denver. A few weeks later, all 1,000 colleagues (along with their dates) enjoyed a formal sit-down dinner/dance in their honor. They all listened as a letter from President Ronald Reagan and the Joint Chiefs of Staff thanking them for their service to America was read aloud.
Mr. Fritsch has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America for his contributions.
Born in Milwaukee, Mr. Fritsch developed a passion for the sciences while in high school. After high school, he attended Marquette University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1970. In retirement, he enjoys remaining active by snowmobiling, dancing, canoeing, camping and biking, among other activities. Mr. Fritsch also loves riding his motorcycle and is a local member of the King of Prussia Ski Club.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Colin M. Fritsch has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
