Since 2007, Dr. Panchal has worked as a chemical engineer and the founding owner of E3Tec Service, LLC., where he leads an experienced research, development and demonstration team provide consulting services to the process industry for the mitigation of petroleum fouling, energy efficiency technologies and the removal of technical and economic barriers of ocean thermal energy. E3Tec Service, LLC has since been awarded several programmatic and small business innovation grants from the U.S. Department of Energy for the development of heat integrated reactive distillation equipped with side reactors and PerVap membranes for the synthesis of organic acid esters and the conversion of carbon dioxide to alkyl carbonates. Previously employed with the Argonne National Laboratory as an assistant chemical engineer and a chemical engineer between 1979 and 2007, Dr. Panchal decided to establish his own business after his energy and water research began to change due to governmental decisions based on elections.
Prior to his tenure at the Argonne National Laboratory, Dr. Panchal excelled as a research associate at Oklahoma State University from 1977 to 1979. An elected fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Chemical Society, he was responsible for revitalizing research on fouling mitigation and for advancing technology for conversion of carbon dioxide to alkyl carbonates. During his career, he has completed the process development of conversion of carbon dioxide to specialty chemicals and bio-based plasticizers. The editor and coeditor of the 1995, 1997 and 1999 proceedings of "Fouling Mitigation," Dr. Panchal also authored a chapter for two books in his area of expertise. Dr. Panchal extensively published and made presentations at the professional meetings on mitigation of fouling, energy efficiency, ocean thermal energy and process development. Dr. Panchal conducted training courses on mitigation of petroleum fouling in USA, India, Malaysia, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, England and Norway.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Dr. Panchal pursued an education at the University of Bombay, notably obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1972 and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1974. He later graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in chemical engineering at the University of Manchester in 1977. The recipient of a 1995 FLC Award for Technology Transfer by the Federal Laboratory Consortium, Dr. Panchal has since been featured in close to a dozen editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
