Charles Sioberg was awarded The Zane Miller Award and named Business Man of the Year by the Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce.
CHAMBERSBURG, PA, April 19, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Charles Sioberg with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Sioberg has worked under a number of titles within the area of urban planning for the last 45 years. He has served as director and board chairman of the Franklin County Area Development Corporation since 1986 (a position he is most proud of). He also served as director and chairman of the Chambersburg Area Development Corporation and Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust Company. He also served as director and chair of the board of Franklin Financial Services, Inc., and as a partner of Martin and Martin, Inc., in Chambersburg, PA, since 1973. Prior to these positions, he began his career as a planning officer of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government in London, England, before becoming a planning associate at Raymond and May Associates in White Plains, NY, from 1967 to 1969. He then served as vice president of Nassaux-Hemsley, Inc. in Chambersburg from 1969 to 1973.
Mr. Sioberg earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1964 where he was the recipient of the Marcus Aaron Award. He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, and was awarded the L.I.H.A. Traveling Fellowship in 1966. He has been certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners. He served as director of the Chambersburg Area Chamber of Commerce from 1978 to 1982. He also served as vice president of Franklin County Heritage, Inc., and he is a co-patent holder for the design of a concrete structural member. In addition, he co-authored the book, "Housing, Better Homes for Better Communities," that was published in 1968.
Aside from his professional roles, Mr. Sioberg was a member of the Chambersburg Country Club. He was awarded The Zane Miller Award and named Business Man of the Year by the Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce. He is listed in the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America and the 21st and 22nd editions of Who's Who in the East.
