Dr. Chambers is an obstetrician and gynecologist who recently retired from medicine in 2017 after more than 40 years in the field. Most recently employed with the Aurora Medical Group in Milwaukee, WI, where he practiced between 1990 and 2003, he also served as department chief and chair of obstetrics and gynecology with Aurora Health Care. He began practicing medicine in 1976 specializing in obstetrics-gynecology in Milwaukee. Dr. Chambers was affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Aurora Sinai Medical Center.
During his career, Dr. Chambers was an assistant clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin Medical School for many years beginning in 1981. He served on the ethics board of the City of Mequon, WI, on the board of governors of the Wisconsin affiliate of the American Heart Association of Milwaukee, and Family Services in Milwaukee. Furthermore, Dr. LaRoyce was co-chair of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Oversight Committee (TPPOC), led by the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County.
Named to Top Influential Black Doctors in America by Savoy Magazine for 2017, Dr. Chambers was also named to Milwaukee Top Doctors for 2015. He has been included in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World as well.
Deciding to pursue his specific area of medicine during his third year of medical school, Dr. Chambers especially enjoyed delivering babies and doing surgery. He also loved working with children, where he could influence the younger generation with the care they received while also educating them. Dr. Chambers notably received a Bachelor of Science from Wayne State University in 1966 and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan in 1970. He soon after completed an internship at Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital and residency at Northwestern University. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also served as captain in the U.S. Army between 1971 and 1973.
Born in Detroit, MI, Dr. Chambers later married his wife Minnie Pearl Smith in 1971. He has two children. In his free time, he enjoys biking and bowling.
