Dr. Domenic Forte currently serves as an Assistant Professor and as the FICS Research Security and Assurance Laboratory Director at the University of Florida.

With many years of practiced experience under his belt, Dr. Forte currently serves as an Assistant Professor and as the FICS Research Security and Assurance Laboratory Director at the University of Florida. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Manhattan College, and a Master of Science in electrical engineering and a Doctor of Engineering in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland. Following an internship with the Maryland Engineering Research Internship Teams, he began his career as a teaching assistant with the University of Maryland. Striving for more international collaboration and recognition in the field, Dr. Forte has previously found success in a number of teaching and research positions at the University of Maryland, the University of Connecticut and the University of Florida.
Although his career is still on the rise, Dr. Forte has co-authored and co-edited a number of published books, including "Security Opportunities in Nano Devices and Emerging Technologies," "Counterfeit Integrated Circuits: Detection and Avoidance" and "Hardware Protection through Obfuscation." Additionally, he contributed his research to 12 chapters in books, 38 peer-reviewed journals and 74 peer-reviewed conferences and workshops. In a career that has already been filled with highlights, Dr. Forte is especially proud of being chosen among 700 submitted papers to receive a best paper nomination for his very first paper in the field of hardware security from the Design Automation Conference, the oldest and largest conference regarding electronic design automation.
For his outstanding work in design automation and hardware security, Dr. Forte was presented with a plethora of awards, including, but not limited to, the Best Paper Award from ACM TODAES, the Best Student Paper Award from the International Joint Conference on Biometrics, the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, and the Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers by Army Research Office (ECASE-Army). He additionally accepted multiple fellowships and scholarships including the Northrop Grumman Fellowship, Society of Military Engineers (SAME) Scholarship, and the New York State Academic Excellence Scholarship. Looking toward the future, Dr. Forte aims to be promoted to the post of an Associate Professor with tenure at the University of Florida, eventually obtain the role of full professor and branch out into new areas of research as well.
