A certified public accountant, Mr. Chambers has earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Lehigh University. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the Financial Executives Institute, where he served as the director from 1981 to 1982. From 1991 to 2001, Mr. Chambers held the post of the chairman for the Rocky Run YMCA.
During his free time, Mr. Chambers has contributed to those less fortunate through the United Way of Louisville, the Kentucky Opera Association and the finance committee of the National CASA Association.
