After accruing many years of professional excellence, Rev. Mengel retired from his role as a senior pastor with Park Heights Baptist Church in Spokane, WA. Over the years, he has provided spiritual leadership and guidance through a number of endeavors, including visiting hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers, delivering sermons, teaching God's Word, and leading a variety of ceremonies, including funerals, weddings, baptisms, infant dedications and holiday worship services. Previously, Rev. Mengel worked as a Para Transit bus driver before realizing his calling to serve God, subsequently excelling as an associate pastor and a church custodian for Grant Park Baptist Church, Portland, OR as well as a senior pastor for First Baptist Church, Cambridge, ID.
Ordained through the American Baptist Churches USA, Rev. Mengel had earned an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in biblical education from Multnomah School of the Bible. He concluded his studies with a Master of Divinity from the Western Conservative Baptist Seminary. During his spare time, Rev. Mengel has contributed to his community through the Manette Community Church of Bremerton, First Baptist Church of Cambridge, the Cambridge Senior Center, First Association of Churches of Idaho and the Greater Spokane Association of Evangelicals.
Rev. Mengel served in and was honorably discharged from the United States Army; later he was employed as an electronics mechanic for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport, WA. He was named an Outstanding Young Man in America in 1985 for his academic achievement (Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges) while at Multnomah School of the Bible from 1983 to 1984. Likewise, he was selected for inclusion in the 1993 volume of Who's Who in the West. Looking toward the future, Rev. Mengel intends to enjoy his retirement by volunteer service in his community and local church.
