STORRS, CT, May 10, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Terri J. Goldich with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Goldich celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Retiring in 2015 after 38 years of service, Ms. Goldich began her tenure at the University of Connecticut as a cataloger in the main library in 1977. Following this appointment, she participated in the Pioneer Valley Union List of Serials cooperative program before accepting other roles within the University's libraries, including the coordinator for Connecticut List of Serials and positions at the reference and information desks. Responsible for the growth of the children's book research collection from 13,000 to 46,000, she was instrumental in the development of the Connecticut Children's Book Fair, which has been held annually every year since 1992. She later co-chaired the book fair committee in 1998 and held the post of the co-chair in 2006 until retirement, where she oversaw fundraising and was the primary contact with the authors and illustrators who were invited to present. Additionally, Ms. Goldich served as a judge of the Raab Prize, a contest for university students in the illustration program, and as the head of the library's exhibits committee for many years.
During her tenure, Ms. Golrich has contributed numerous articles to various scholarly journals in her field. She is notably affiliated with the American Library Association, the American Book Collectors Children's Literature, the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and Delta Phi Alpha. Locally, she was active as the vice chairman of the planning and zoning commission in Vernon, Conn. as well as a lay leader for the Rockville United Methodist Church in Rockville, Conn. and served on the Vernon Board of Education.
In 1982-1983, Ms. Goldich was presented with an Excellence Award from the University of Connecticut Library. She has been selected for inclusion in five editions of Who's Who in America between 2010 and 2016. Additionally, Ms. Goldich obtained a Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in 1976 and a Master of Library Science from Connecticut State University in 2005.
