Alfred Frantz Myers led a prolific career as a state education official for over 35 years.

Supported by years of experience and an impressive education, Mr. Myers led a prolific career as a state education official for over 35 years. A graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1958 and a Master of Arts in 1966. He also completed postgraduate coursework with the Peabody College of Education and Human Development at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, between 1971 and 1972. During this time, he served to first lieutenant in the United State Air Force from 1958 to 1963 before progressing to captain with the United States Air Force Reserve from 1963 to 1971.
Mr. Myers began his career as an instructor for the Grand River Academy in Austinburg, OH, in 1966, further serving the same role with Culver Military Academy in Culver, IN, from 1966 to 1968 and Kiskiminetas Springs School, now known as the Kiski School, in Saltsburg, PA, between 1968 and 1971. Mr. Myers continued his career, holding the posts of a division trainer, manager, assistant professor, research associate, and criminal justice system planner with various employers between 1972 and 1998. He also served as a basic education associate for the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Harrisburg, PA, from 1986 to 1998, as well as an associate for EdVise from 1998 until his retirement in 2001.
While fulfilling his career responsibilities, Mr. Myers also volunteered as a social worker in the Dominican Republic in 1958. Additionally, he served as a volunteer teacher for Global Volunteers in Xi'an, China, in 1999. To remain aware of changes in the field, he maintains a relationship with various professional organizations. A member of the American Legion, he is affiliated with the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Federation of Teachers, the Pennsylvania Association for Adult Continuing Education, the Conference of Latin American Geography, the American Historical Association and the National Braille Association, among others.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Myers was selected for inclusion in the third edition of Who's Who Among Human Service Professionals, as well as multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World. However, in a career filled with highlights, Mr. Myers enjoyed being surrounded by people who helped each other and their surroundings.
