An award-winning Correctional Officer Sergeant, Ms. Gross is highly renowned for her professionalism, integrity and commitment over the course of her 16-year career. Now retired, she concluded her career with the Florida Department of Corrections, where she notably assisted in coordinating the most successful women's work release program in the state of Florida, and she was presented with several certificates of appreciation and awards from the Florida Departent of Corrections. The program was considered to be best-in-class and set the model for future women's work release programs that followed.
Ms. Gross came to prominence earlier in her career in a number of roles, including as an interviewer for the Legal Aid Society in Jacksonville, FL, and a correctional counselor for the Florida Department of Corrections. Considered an expert in her field, she was tremendously involved within her industry through her memberships with the National Association of Female Executives and the American Corrections Association. To prepare for her multifaceted career, Ms. Gross earned an Associate of Arts from Florida Junior College, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Florida, a minor in Social Work from the University of North Florida, and a Diploma in Paralegal Studies from the U.S. Career Institute.
In addition to her work as a corrections officer, Ms. Gross was the owner of Rochelle's Tax and Financial Services, a full service financial firm that focused on tax preparation, bookkeeping, and credit and debt management. She consulted on money management and prepared documents to set individuals up for financial success. She was further affiliated with the American Association of Notaries, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and the National Society of Tax Professional, and the National Directory of Registered Tax Return Preparers. Certified as a Credit and Debt Consultant, Ms. Gross attributes her success to her passion combined with her education.
Ms. Gross is lauded in her local community for her civic work. Over the years, she has served as an instructor for first aid & CPR commissioned by the American Red Cross, a member of Sister's Unity, a member of the board of directors for the Singles for Jesus Ministry, Inc. a member of Big Brothers, Big Sisters; a member of Florida Crime and Delinquency, and a member of Florida Home and Community Educators, Inc. Additionally, she founded the KEY Center and contributed to the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America. For her volunteer work, Ms. Gross was celebrated on numerous occasions by Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the Elder Source SHINE Program, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, the City of Jacksonville for Volunteer Services, and Northeast Florida Community Action Agency for volunteer service and contribution to the success of the Neighborhood Youth Crime Prevention Program.
