Dr. Fox is a retired academic administrator and educator who led a very impressive career for more than five decades. Retiring in 2017 as senior vice president of advancement at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, after eight years in his role, he also served as a special assistant to the president. Dr. Fox's extensive background in academia also included appointments with several other institutions, including the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL, as senior vice president of advancement and Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia as senior vice president of advancement and sponsored programs. Earlier in his career, he was the assistant and associate dean at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ, and the founding chief administration officer of University Health System of New Jersey. He also held positions at the University of Michigan and the University of Massachusetts Amherst and taught at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the Western University of Health Sciences.
As a health care executive, Dr. Fox was affiliated with such organizations as Operation Smile in Norfolk, VA, as chief executive officer between 1996 and 2000 and the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ, as president and chief executive officer from 1994 to 1996. During his career, Dr. Fox also authored articles in various professional journals.
Dr. Fox is an elected fellow of the Academy of Medicine of New Jersey, member and institutional leader of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and member and diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a longtime member of Phi Delta Kappa. Locally, Dr. Fox was affiliated with the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, Inc., as a trustee from 1981 to 1990 and again from 1996 to 2014.
Throughout his career, Dr. Fox has been featured in approximately 30 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. Who's Who in the World in 2000.
He has notably held a Bachelor of Arts from The College of New Jersey since 1964, Master of Education from the University of Vermont since 1966, and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Michigan since 1972. Born in New York City, Dr. Fox later married his wife Mary Patricia Palmer in 1980. He has three children and four grandchildren.
