A longtime investment company and real estate executive, Mr. Winchester is a talented and tenured businessman who has worked tirelessly in his field over the past 40 years. Initially working as an Assistant Vice President at First National Bank in Atlanta between 1979 and 1983, he later excelled as the Executive Vice President at Lomas Management Inc. in Dallas between 1983 and 1996. In 1996 he joined Hatfield Philips as the Director of Asset Management. From 2013 he served as the Co-Owner and Co-Chief Executive Officer of TriMont Real Estate Investors in Atlanta, where he remained until 2016. Appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Auburn University since 2017, Mr. Winchester serves within the Master of Real Estate Development Program. Additionally, Mr. Winchester established Summit Investors, Inc. as Founder and CEO in 2012.
Located in Milton, Ga., Summit Investors specializes in real estate investments, private company investments and consulting. He is also a former member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers, and ICSC. Currently he is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable of Washington, D.C., the Anglo-American Real Property Initiative, and the ULI Atlanta Federal Reserve Capital Markets Council. Mr. Winchester was previously active as a board member of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council for six years.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of North Carolina in 1979 and shortly thereafter a Foundations Diploma at the American Institute of Banking. He concluded his education at Duke University, completing the Advanced Management Program at the Fuqua School of Business in 2000. Honored as an Honorary Citizen by the city of Charlotte, NC, Mr. Winchester has also been featured in nearly 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.
Mr. Winchester has been active as an Eagle Scout, Cub Scout Leader and Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He also found success as the Board Chairman of the Lighthouse Ministries and the Board Chairman of the Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia. Furthermore, he maintained involvement as the Chair of the long range planning committee of First Baptist Church of Alpharetta, Georgia. He currently serves on the Board of 3 Star Communities in Atlanta, Georgia and is the Atlanta City Leader for Generous Giving. Most notably, Mr. Winchester has volunteered for a number of tremendous non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity of Atlanta and Dallas, United Way and Opportunity Dallas.
