Taking a more holistic approach to criminal justice, her firm is a huge proponent of restorative justice. Additionally, she was the founder of the Three Strikes Justice Center in 2013. Earlier in her career, Ms. Lamano represented low-wage and immigrant workers at the Women's Employment Rights Clinic at Golden Gate University.
Alongside her primary endeavors, Ms. Lamano also donated her time to the Insight Prison Project, where she served on the board of directors from 2012 to 2017. Since 2018, she has been involved with the board of directors at Legal Services for Prisoners with Children, which advocates for the release of incarcerated people, the restoration of human and civil rights and the reunification of families. First earning a Bachelor of Science in communications from Woodbury University in 2006, Ms. Lamano went on to obtain a Doctor of Jurisprudence in public interest from the School of Law at Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 2010. Licensed to practice law by the State Bar of California, she has also been admitted to practice by state and federal courts and has served as a court appointed attorney for the Alameda County Bar Association. In order to keep abreast of developments in her field, Ms. Lamano maintains professional affiliation with the California Public Defenders Association, the California DUI Lawyers Association, the Alameda County Bar Association, the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
