A native of Wellington, United Kingdom, Mrs. Walsh graduated with a diploma from Saint Loyes School of Occupational Therapy in 1965 prior to embarking upon her professional path. Working as an occupational therapist at Exe Vale Hospitals between 1965 and 1967 and the Cowley Road Hospital between 1967 and 1970, she continued her career in the United States, serving as a staff occupational therapist at Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro, NC, from 1970 to 1971. Furthermore, Mrs. Walsh concluded her academic efforts at Salisbury University in Maryland, earning a Master of Education in 1977.
Following these accomplishments, Mrs. Walsh excelled as a consulting occupational therapist and a chief occupational therapist in Texas and Maryland, before relocating to California, where she concluded her career with Beverly Rehabilitation in Monrovia and Country Villa, Arcadia, CA from 1994 to 2004. Throughout her career, she was involved in additional endeavors in relation to her areas of expertise, including serving as a preceptor for occupational therapy students from the University of Boston, the University of Texas, the University of Puget Sound, and the University of Southern California. Actively participating at her local church as a choir member, she found much additional success as a junior warden at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church in Monrovia, CA in 1984 and in 1992. A published writer, Mrs. Walsh has authored several chapters for books and articles for professional journals.
To remain aware of changes in the field, Mrs. Walsh has maintained affiliations with the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the British Association of Occupational Therapists. A testament to her career, she has been the recipient of the Distinction in Psychological Occupational Therapy Practical Exam from the British Association of Occupational Therapists in London in 1965. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Mrs. Walsh enjoys traveling, photography, reading, music, hiking, concerts, financial management, writing and swimming in her spare time.
