Ms. Bass is a retired staff nurse who most recently practiced medicine at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Maryland. During her career, she was also a head nurse at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, and a staff nurse at both the Baltimore VA Medical Center and the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in New Hampshire. From 1968 to 1970, Ms. Bass served active duty as a lieutenant junior grade with the United States Navy Nurse Corps before going on to hold the position of lieutenant commander with the United States Navy Reserve from 1970 to 1980.
Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Bass pursued an education at the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, where she earned a nursing diploma in 1967. Following this accomplishment, she continued her studies and obtained a bachelor's degree in general studies from the University of New Hampshire in Durham in 1975. In light of all her accomplishments, Ms. Bass has previously been selected for inclusion in the first editions of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and the fourth and fifth editions of Who's Who in American Nursing.
Born in Vienna, Austria, to William Franklin Trent and Ernestine Slama, Ms. Bass now resides in Newville, Pennsylvania, where she spends her free time working in her garden. The proud mother of one son, Justin LaVerne, she is also grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren.
