As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Oglesby is a tenured primary school teacher of 38 years who retired from the very same school where she first started. Hired by the S. She has served on various committees, including the instructional material council for the Clay County School District in Green Cove Springs, the developmental district committee for the Clay County Whole Language Reading Council in Orange Park and the SACS committee for Forest Hills Elementary School in Jacksonville. She is an ASA committee member of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and the Early Childhood Generalist Standards Committee. She is a life member of the National Council of Negro Women, the Florida Memorial University Alumni Association. Furthermore, Ms. Oglesby is a past president of the North Florida Association for the Education of Young Children, the Florida Association for the Education of Young Children, and the Southern Early Childhood Association.

Ms. Oglesby has been honored several times, most notably by being named S. Bryan Jenning Elementary School Teacher of Year for 1989-90. She also received a Clay County Excel Award that same academic school year and was named to the New Stanton Class of '67 for Outstanding Work in Education. In light of all her accomplishments, Ms. Oglesby has been cited in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.

A certified teacher in the state of Florida, Ms. Oglesby holds a Bachelor of Science from Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens and a Master of Education from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. In her retirement, she enjoys walking and reading to keep her mind and body in shape. Married to Eugene Oglesby since 1974, Ms. Oglesby is the proud mother of two children and grandmother to three grandchildren.
