NEWPORT, MN, June 07, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janice LaRae Alden Anderson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. As a child, Ms. Anderson grew up on a farm watching her father work as a farm equipment dealer and repairman. Although her dream was to go to college to study journalism, life had a different plan. At the inception of her career, she worked as a water safety instructor and trainer for eight years. From there, she worked for the Pillsbury Company before starting her family. One of the highlights of her professional life was when she went to work for CMS Contel as a construction management systems analyst from 1971 to 1991. During that time, she pursued studies on her own that furthered her knowledge of the field. Before retiring in 2002, she became the owner of Decorating Den Franchise. Since 2010, she has also served as a prolific watercolorist. Studying in France and Italy, she attended multiple workshops and classes.
In order to remain abreast of changes in her field, Ms. Anderson affiliates herself with NorthStar Watermedia Society, where she serves as treasurer and is a former president and vice president. She also chaired the First National Juried Exhibition in Hopkins, MN, and will be organizing the Fifth Annual Exhibition in Lakeville, MN, in 2019. Previously, she maintained affiliation with Toastmasters International. In her spare time, she contributes her expertise to her community through a number of local churches, including the United Church of Christ, as well as the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
In light of her professional accomplishments, Ms. Anderson won the Toastmaster of the Year Award in 1981 and was featured in two volumes of Who's Who of American Women in 1986 and 1988. In the near future, Ms. Anderson intends to continue enjoying her retirement.
