Supported by more than 55 years of legal practice experience, Mr. Auerbach excels as the President of his eponymous law firm, established in 1987. Hailing from a family of certified public accountants and encouraged by his father to focus on tax law, he began his career as an attorney in New York City with Casey, Lane and Mittendorf. After five years he re-located to New Haven, Connecticut; shortly thereafter the firm became Winnick, Resnick & Auerbach, PC. Although his career has been filled with many highlights, he is especially proud of being a member of the Connecticut Bar Association for more than 50 years, and serving for many years as a Director and member of the Executive Committee. of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. At various times Mr. Auerbach worked on the CBA Law Office Economics & Management Committee, the Committee on Continuing Education, the Task Force on IOLTA, the Task Force on Recruitment of Minorities, the Task Force on Small and Solo Law Firms, and the Committees on Legal Publications and Member Benefits. On a personal note, Mr. Auerbach is also incredibly proud of his wife as well as his three children, two of whom have obtained PhD degrees while the third has earned an MBA degree and a PMP degree.
Mr. Auerbach pursued his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which awarded him degrees of Bachelor of Science in economics, political science and mathematics. After a brief period of employment with John Hancock Life Insurance Company as an Actuarial Trainee, he continued his studies at Yale University Law School. Mr. Auerbach concluded his formal education at New York University Law School, where he earned a Master of Laws in Taxation degree. In addition to Connecticut, he was for many years a member of the Bar of the State of New York, as well as a member of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Auerbach has been honored as an Outstanding Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
During his spare time, Mr. Auerbach has contributed to his community through Greater New Haven Jewish Family Service, the Boy Scouts of America, the Development Corporation for the State of Israel, and several local synagogues. He also was active in the New Haven Jaycees, the Republican Town Committee of the Town of Orange, Connecticut, the Orange Town Library (President and Finance Chairman), the Greater New Haven State Technical College Regional Advisory Council, and MENSA. Mr. Auerbach is listed in Marquis Who's Who in America, 55th-56th Editions.
