Dr. Ginzburg has been a lead engineer for the MITRE Corp. in Bedford, Massachusetts, since 1997. A non-profit organization that operates multiple federally funded research and development centers, MITRE is dedicated to solving problems for a safer world by providing innovative, practical solutions in the defense and intelligence, aviation, civil systems, homeland security, judiciary, health care and cybersecurity spheres. Dr. Ginzburg previously served as a senior member of the technical staff at Racal-Datacom Inc. and was a principal engineer for Digital Equipment Corp. and Wang Laboratories between 1980 and 1997. Prior to his years in the United States, he was an engineer, senior engineer and principal engineer for the Central Research Institute of Communications in Moscow between 1969 and 1980.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Ginzburg was notably awarded four patents for developments in his field. Authoring three books, "Waveguides with Discrete Correction" in 1975, "Statistical Communication" in 1977, with a second edition 1979, and "Lightwave Transmission Systems" in 1980, he also served as the editor for "Waveguides for Communications" in 1980. In light of all his accomplishments, Dr. Ginzburg has been included in the fifth edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
Born in Moscow, Russia, Dr. Ginzburg became interested in radio technique at an early age. Embarking on his studies at the Institute of Electronics, Radio-Engineering and Informatics in Moscow, he earned a Master of Science in 1961 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1969. Currently residing in Boxborough, Massachusetts, he is the proud father of three children, Irina, Natasha and Michael, and grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren. In his free time, Dr. Ginzburg used to stay active through cross-country skiing, long distance biking, running, swimming and hiking and triathalons.
