Prior to obtaining these roles, he was the director of research and an associate editor for the Church & State Magazine from 1972 to 1977 and 1980 to 1988, spending a year as the news bureau chief for the American Bible Society in New York City from 1978 to 1979. Earlier in his career, Mr. Menendez was a program planning analyst and newsletter editor for the government of Georgia from 1971 to 1972 and a program analyst and researcher with the Florida Medical Association from 1968 to 1970.
An accomplished writer, Mr. Menendez has authored and co-authored countless works over the course of his career. Most recently, he published "The Religious Factor in the 1960 Presidential Election: An Analysis of the Kennedy Victory Over Anti-Catholic Prejudice" in 2011. He was also the co-author of "A Quarter Century on the Firing Line: The Best Writing from Americans for Religious Liberty's Journal, Voice of Reason" in 2009 and the author of "The Geography of Presidential Elections in the United States: 1868-2004" in 2005. Mr. Menendez also served as a consultant to ABC News during the 1978 and 1980 elections and to NBC News for the 1988 election.
Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Menendez pursued an education at Jacksonville University in Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1967. In an effort to remain up to date with developments in his field, he maintains longtime affiliation with the Authors Guild, which is America's oldest and largest professional organization for writers. Recognized for his contributions throughout his career, he was presented with the Award for Outstanding Community Leadership by Religious Heritage of America. Mr. Menendez has also been featured in Who's Who in Entertainment and Who's Who in the East.
