For more than 45 years, Dr. Icenogle has excelled in various fields, having worked most recently as an information technology specialist for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. Earlier in his career, he worked as a teaching and graduate assistant for Cornell University while pursuing a doctorate there in physical and biophysical chemistry, and later Dr. Icenogle found success in chemistry and chemical engineering with Shell Development Company, in secondary education with the Olympia School District, and in writing in the area of philosophy and science.
Dr. Icenogle initially pursued an education in biochemistry at Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1974. He continued with studies in physical and biophysical chemistry at Cornell University, earning a Master of Science in 1977 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1981. Later on, he gained the credentials to teach secondary science by by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Eastern Washington University in 1996.
Furthermore, Dr. Icenogle has been affiliated with the American Chemical Society, the New York Academy of Sciences, the International Platform Association, PEN America, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, various education associations, and with the Washington Federation of State Employees. Looking toward the future, Dr. Icenogle intends to enjoy his retirement.
