A hard-working and dedicated professional with years of experience in varying fields, Dr. Falk began his career in psychology in 1972, as an undergraduate accepting a position at the New York University Medical Center, Millhauser Laboratories, as an electronics consultant for psychological research. Subsequently, he excelled at Fordham University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences as a research assistant and an adjunct instructor in psychology and also served as a research assistant with the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Between 1979 and 1983, Dr. Falk further conducted research as a human factors engineer at Gould Simulation Systems, Inc. and a research psychologist (non-academic faculty) at the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University (formerly the Cornell University Medical College) where he authored several research papers published in professional journals. He also taught statistics and psychology courses at Fordham University, Marymount College and Mercy College.
In the mid-1980s, Dr. Falk shifted the direction of his career as he focused more on performing data and statistical analysis on research projects for major companies in the U.S. and internationally. Supported by a love of computers that pre-dated computer science programs existing on the undergraduate level, he decided to remain in the field and became a computer programming instructor and project leader for AT&T's Comprehensive UNIX Training Program while employed as a consultant for Concentric Associates. For the remainder of the 1980s, he served as a research analyst developing software for the Mocatta Metals Corporation and later became vice president of Lopez and Associates, where he developed computer software for organization psychology and psychological assessments. In 1989, Dr. Falk joined the international law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell, LLC as a senior systems analyst where he developed software that supported legal research and operations. In 2015, Dr. Falk retired from Davis Polk and has since been active as the president and the principal consultant for Comstat Research Corporation where he continues to develop software and perform data analysis.
Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Dr. Falk pursued an education at Fordham University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1974, a Master of Arts in 1976, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1980. He maintains his professional affiliation with the American Psychological Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the New York Academy of Sciences,
Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Honor Society) and the Association for Computer Machinery. Due to his outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Falk accepted the Loyola fellowship while attending graduate school at Fordham University. He has since served on an advisory board for Fordham University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and is a member of Fordham University's Doty Society.
