Since 1978, Mr. Davis has excelled in the field of finance as an independent financial planner and as an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service. Over the years, he also gained valuable expertise through his work at the Howard University School of Continuing Education and as chair emeritus of the Association of African American Financial Advisors, where he served as founder. Due to his considerable knowledge, he hosted a television show called Common Cents at Howard University and published a quarterly financial education newsletter called "Finance and the African American Family" as well.
He received his Certified Financial Planner designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO. Mr. Davis also holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in accounting from Southeastern University in Washington, DC. He is the Board Chair of the AAAA Foundation and he keeps abreast of changes in the field through his membership and affiliation with AAAA, AAAA Foundation and the CFP Board of Standards. In his spare time, he gives back to his community through his role as chair of the Family Financial Literacy Ministry at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
In light of his exceptional achievements, Mr. Davis has earned numerous accolades. The recipient of the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from InvestmentNews in 2018, he also received the Eagle Award from the Society for Education and Professional Development, and was chosen as one of the nation's top financial planners in Money Magazine's Fall 1987 Special Issue. The recipient of a Service Award for Blazing New Trails in Economics from Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority's Montgomery County, MD, Chapter, he also received a Trailblazer Award from the Association for African American Financial Advisors and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Financial Planning Association. Looking toward the future, Mr. Davis intends to continue serving the underserved, teaching and mentoring the next generation of financial planners and advisors
