An exhibiting fine artist, Grigory Gurevich has mastered nearly all forms of visual arts.

A native of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russia, Mr. Gurevich has been a visual artist and educator for nearly forty years. After completing an education in the Leningrad Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design (now the Academy of Fine and Industrial Arts), he began his career as an interior designer.
In 1961, he saw a performance by the world famous mime Marcel Marceau, who was touring in Leningrad at the time. It was then that Grigory Gurevich fell in love with the art form which was to define the rest of his life.
He began studying pantomime obsessively and later found his own theater company Grigur's Pantomime Theater under stage name GRIGUR, which he opened in conjunction with a school for mime. Until 1969, Grigur's Pantomime Theatre performed in the theater of most famous actor in the Soviet Union, Raikin, and toured Russia performing pantomimes that were typically philosophical and subversive with anti-communist subtext. Towards the end of the sixties, the Soviet Ministry of Culture began to crack down on Gurevich, banning his troupe from performing in most prominent Russian theaters.
In 1976 Gurevich was given an opportunity to emigrate from Russia and he moved to the United States, where in 1979 he again founded Grigur's Pantomime Theater as a non for profit organization.
Besides teaching pantomime classes and creating a new pantomime program in New York, he was teaching visual arts at the Bergen School in Jersey City between 1980 and 1982, then became a Faculty member of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts in Newark, New Jersey where he taught sculpture and jewelry.
There he created a bronze tableau "The Commuters", completed in 1985 with some of his students as an educational assignment -- it is now on permanent display at Newark Penn Station. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Gurevich was a professor at St. John's University in Jamaica, New York. In 1998 he founded Arts on the Hudson, a Jersey City based organization as a branch of GPT that continues to serve the community by providing after-school arts education.
He also provides very successful art workshops on sculpture at many art festivals in New Jersey and New York.
An exhibiting fine artist, Grigory Gurevich has mastered nearly all forms of visual arts. Four of his art books, including his Magic Book based on his patent are in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His book Reflections is in the collection of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia and the New York Public Library.
Mr. Gurevich has written numerous art-related books in 2008 as "Allegories" and "The Man, Mountain and the Eagle".
His bronze bust of Kazuo Hashimoto, famous Japanese-American inventor, is on display at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ. In 1983, Gurevich completed his Metaphysical Universal Concept on which he worked for decades. In 2016 his sculpture "CLOWN" was exhibited in the Russian State Museum in Sankt Petersburg, Russia in the exhibition "CIRCIS".
As a SAG member he participated in several movie and television productions.
He has close to 70 literary articles, pantomime librettos and prose writings published in PROSA.RU.
