ELLICOTT CITY, MD, July 04, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- An experienced and commended educator, Dr. Hardy is currently an emeritus professor for the University of Maryland in College Park – a role he has held since 2000. Additionally, he serves as a member of the peer review panel for the United States Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C., and as secretary for the Miller's Grant Resident Advisory Board. Prior to obtaining his current positions, Dr. Hardy worked as a professor and the chair of the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology at the University of Maryland, where he also directed the Institute for Child Study between 1969 and 2000.
In the 1960s, Dr. Hardy started in education as a chemistry teacher for the Red Lion Area School District and the Conrad Weiser Area School District before transferring into a collegiate position at Indiana University in Bloomington. Even though his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of consulting for the Biscuit and Cracker Manufacturers' Association and rewriting their curriculum for teaching industry professionals. Impressively, the curriculum that Dr. Hardy wrote is still used around the world today.
Before embarking on his career, Dr. Hardy honed his expertise through a Bachelor of Science in education from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, which he earned in 1961. He continued his studies and obtained a Master of Science in education and a Doctor of Education at Indiana University in 1964 and 1969, respectively. In order to stay informed of the changes and advancements in his industry, he maintains affiliation with various organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association and the Society for Research in Child Development. He has also contributed his skills to his community as president of the Epiphany Lutheran Church and as the treasurer of the Sunset Bay Association. For his outstanding work in education, Dr. Hardy was named to the 49th and 50th editions of Who's Who in America.
