Ms. Miranda found success at Process Heat, Inc., where her valuable skills as a chemical engineer yielded the 96 percent VOC destruction thermal oxidizer
MATTHEWS, NC, July 04, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Leticia Rustia Miranda with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Miranda celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having accrued more than 40 years of experience, Ms. Miranda retired from consulting in chemical engineering in 2001. Born in the Philippines, she began her career in 1958, just one year after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. She promptly accepted a position at her alma mater as an assistant professor, and passed on her knowledge to students for more than 10 years before immigrating to the United States in 1970.
After briefly serving as an assistant programmer at Tokheim Corp. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ms. Miranda continued her professional journey and offered her expertise as an analysis programmer with Duke Power Co. in Charlotte from 1979 to 1989. During this time, she obtained a Master of Science from the University of North Carolina, which greatly enhanced her ability to affiliate in the field for which she held the most passion: engineering. To this end, she departed from Duke Power Co. and joined the staff of Joy Energy Systems as a process engineer, an appointment she held until 1991.
Ms. Miranda found further success at Process Heat, Inc., where her valuable skills as a chemical engineer yielded the 96 percent VOC destruction thermal oxidizer, whose design allowed fumes in chemical facilities to pass through a big old boiler serving as a heat exchange to produce steam. The device was so successful that it was sold hundreds of times to various companies throughout the world, particularly in Venezuela and Mexico. It even earned Ms. Miranda a Gold Medal from the University of Santo Tomas in 2007. After her affiliation with Process Heat concluded, she briefly worked
as a design engineer for Aeroglide in Cary, North Carolina, until 1997, whereupon she consulted independently with different organizations until her retirement.
To remain informed on developments in her field, Ms. Miranda maintains membership with the National Society of Professional Engineers. Outside of professional concerns, her avocations include skating and gardening. Ms. Miranda has been happily married to her husband, Florinio, for over 50 years, and they are the proud parents of five children.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Miranda has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
