Earlier in his career, he was a partner of Kirkland and Ellis from 1983 to 1996, also serving as an associate from 1977 to 1983.
Mr. Featherstone attended Yale University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in economics in 1974. He continued his studies at the University of Michigan, earning a JD, magna cum laude, in 1977. He has been admitted to practice law in the states of Illinois and Colorado, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the District of Colorado, the United States Courts of Appeals for the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, and Federal Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Mr. Featherstone is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association and the Denver Bar Association. Further, he is affiliated with the Order of the Coif.
Throughout his career, Mr. Featherstone has been recognized for his contributions to the field of law. He holds a Martindale Hubbell AV Rating and was named a Colorado Super Lawyer. A distinguished Marquis listee, he has been featured in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who in the World.
