Prior to that role, she worked as a teacher and a computer coordinator with the Sheridan School from 1980 to 1994, a teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools from 1975 to 1980, and a teacher in Worthington, OH, in 1963. Ms. Boynton began her career as a public school teacher in Berea, OH, from 1959 to 1961 and a teacher at Radnor Township School District from 1961 to 1963.
Ms. Boynton initially pursued an education at Denison University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1958. She concluded her studies with postgraduate coursework at Case Western Reserve University in 1959 and at Baldwin-Wallace College from 1959 to 1961. Furthermore, Mr. Boynton is a certified teacher in the state of Maryland.
A respected voice in her areas of expertise, Ms. Boynton has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Computer Association for Independent Schools, and the Junior League of Washington. Ms. Boynton has also been active with the Edgemoor Club, Mortar Board, Delta Gamma, the Woman's Club of Chevy Chase, the Bethesda Community Garden Club and the board of Bethesda Metro Area Village.
Throughout her career, Ms. Boynton has been celebrated for her contributions to her field. She has accepted many accolades for her achievements. Likewise, Ms. Boynton has been featured in numerous publications, including Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the Media and Communication.
