With more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Evans is an instructor of health occupations with Canton Local Schools. Prior to obtaining her current role, she was the clinical supervisor of the medical and surgical units at Aultman Hospital, having previously been a staff float nurse with Mercy Medical Center. Earlier in her career, she was a coordinator of diversified cooperative health occupations with Canton Local Schools.
Ms. Evans first pursued a career as a student at the Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, where she obtained a diploma in 1958. She then joined the University of Mount Union, receiving a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, in 1978. She later continued her education with Kent State University, earning a Master of Education, summa cum laude, in 1983. She subsequently pursued postgraduate coursework with the University of Akron in 1988. She is a registered nurse in the state of Ohio, and she is certified as an instructor in diversified health occupations, cooperative health occupations and as a CPR instructor.
A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Evans has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the National Education Association and the Ohio Education Association. She has also been active with the Canton Local Education Association, the Stark-Carroll District Nurses Association, the Ohio Vocational Association and the College Club, where she was a grantee. She has been featured in numerous honors publications, including the fourth and fifth editions of Who's Who in American Nursing.
