For five successful decades Mr. Entriken has excelled as a writer and editor for several domestic publications. He began his career with the Salina Journal in Kansas as a general assignment reporter in 1969. As he progressed with the publication he held assignments as courts reporter, Sunday editor and Special Sections Editor, and also contributed a motorsports column from 1969 to 1982. Mr. Entriken concluded his time with the Salina Journal in 1995 as editor of its Neighbots section and television magazine. He has since flourished as a freelance motorsport journalist through his business of lkke sa Hurtig Racing.
Between 1961 and 1969, Mr. Entriken attended and completed coursework at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. During this time, he also served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1958 to 1967. To remain knowledgeable of trends in the racing and journalism industries, he maintains affiliation with several professional associations, including the Society of Professional Journalists, the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association, and the Sports Car Club of America.
In addition to his primary endeavors, Mr. Entriken began contributing as an editor for Sports Car magazine based in Irvine, California, in 1972, a writer for Motorsports Weekly based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a motorsport columnist for Speed Sport magazine between 1996 and 2007. In light of his accomplishments as a journalist, he was presented with the Best Story Award by the Sports Car Magazine multiple times between 1972 and 1987. Likewise, he was selected for inclusion in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Media and Communication, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. Outside of work, he enjoys sports car racing, auto crossing and skiing.
