Dr. Nancy Bogen Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

With a steadfast desire to teach, Dr. Bogen embarked upon her professional journey in 1967, joining the faculty of the College of Staten Island, a part of the City University of New York system, as an assistant professor of English. Within a decade, she advanced to the role of a professor, and continued to instruct students for more than 20 years. In recognition of her contributions during this time, she was recognized as a fellow of the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in 1987 and received a grant from Poets & Writers Inc. in 1995.

Upon her retirement from teaching in 1997, Dr. Bogen founded a performance group, The Lark Ascending, with chich she remained involved in 2008. The group, which included several prominent New York Actors among its cast, performed "The Greate Debate in Hell" and "Samson Agonistes" to widespread acclaim. Dr. Bogen has additionally authored a number of novel, namely "Bobe Mayse, A Tale of Washington Square," "Klytaimnestra Who Stayed at Home and Basatelle Guinevere. Her plays included "Coeur de Lion, Mon Coeur" and "Lost Morning Eyes," and her web show productions have consisted of works such as "Licorice Moments," "Finnegan's Shake" and "A Noiseless, Patient Spider."

A seasoned and acclaimed professional, Dr. Bogen obtained a Bachelor of Arts from New York University in 1952. Continuing he reducation at Columbia University, she earned a Master of Arts in 1962 and a Doctor of Philosophy in English literature in 1968. She mantains professional affiliations with both the Authors Guild and the Dramatists Guild of America in order to remain aware of new developments in the field. In addition, Dr. Bogen is an avid photographer and editor of digital imagery. She has been married to her husband, Arnold Greissle-Schunbenrs, for 30 years.
