Mr. Harper began his career as a branch manager with Household Finance Corporation in Dayton, Ohio, from 1965 to 1969. Subsequently, he worked as a management consultant for A.B. Cassidy & Associates in Ridgefield, Connecticut, between 1969 and 1970, before accepting a vice president of sales position for Lin Conselyea, Inc., in Medway, Ohio, from 1970 to 1972. He progressed to the roles of an executive vice president, a treasurer, and the director of the aforementioned company between 1972 to 1977. Soon thereafter, Mr. Harper founded Val Pak Promotions Inc., in Dayton in 1974 and served as the company's president and chief executive officer until 1979.
As he continued to progress through his career, Mr. Harper became the founder and the chief executive officer of Metro Maid, Inc., in Dayton between 1978 and 1999, while simultaneously establishing and finding success in the role of the chief executive officer at GSH, Inc., from 1979 to 1999. He has flourished as a director and an executive vice president with the San Sal Villas in San Salvador, Bahamas since 1978. Mr. Harper was additionally associated with Group Interaction Inc., in Dayton, Ohio, and the Carousel Mountain Amusement Park in Oswego, New York, as a director.
Additionally, he has contributed to Harper Properties, where he was responsible for developing and selling residential properties. Other professional endeavors to his credit include working as a wholesale distributor of snack foods, operating a residential housecleaning service, creating promotional materials and radio ads for businesses.
In preparation of his career, Mr. Harper pursued a formal education. After completing coursework at the University of Dayton, and Wright State University, Dayton Ohio, from 1961 to 1965, he enrolled at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Harper earned a Bachelor of Arts from the aforementioned institution in 1982.
An active member of his community, Mr. Harper has excelled as a director of the Fairfield Glade Homeowners Association in Tennessee from 2006 to 2012 and as an outside auditor for Cumberland County in Tennessee, a position to which he was appointed by the County Mayor in 2013 and still maintains. He has also volunteered with the Bread of Life Mission and Fairfield Glade Resident Services. For his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Harper was recognized as an Honorary Firefighter by the Fairfield Glade Fire Department in 2012. His many accomplishments have been featured in a number of newspapers and publications.
