An experienced and commended attorney, Ms. Grace is a partner with Wake Family Law Group in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since 1997, she has focused her practice exclusively on family law, including issues such as divorce, equitable distribution, spousal support, child custody, child support, marital agreements, family law appeals, and family law litigation, arbitration and mediation. Prior to joining Wake Family Law Group, she was an associate and then partner with Sullivan & Grace from 1997 until 2006, and served as a law clerk in 1996 for the Honorable James A. Wynn, Jr. during his time on the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Before entering the legal field, she taught Spanish at North Carolina State University.
A Board Certified Specialist in Family Law since 2003, Ms. Grace attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish in 1982, a Master of Arts in Teaching in 1986, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1996. Additionally, she is certified as a Family Financial Mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission, and has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 2009. In service to the legal profession, Ms. Grace has contributed her time and energy to professional organizations, including the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (formerly NC Academy of Trial Lawyers), the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the Wake County Bar Association. She has served in many leadership positions including Chair of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, Chair of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, President of Wake Women Attorneys, and President of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She currently serves as the President of the Tenth Judicial District Bar, the largest local mandatory bar organization in North Carolina.
A prominent figure in the field of family law in North Carolina, Ms. Grace has been honored with numerous accolades for her various outstanding achievements. In 2017, she was named Lawyer of the Year in Family Law in Raleigh by Best Lawyers, received a Leaders in the Law Award from North Carolina Lawyers Weekly in 2016, received an Ebbie Award in 2003 for outstanding service to the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, and was named an Outstanding Volunteer Attorney by the Volunteer Lawyers Program in 1998. Ms. Grace has earned an AV rating, the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell, has been designated by her peers as a Super Lawyer in Family Law by North Carolina Super Lawyers each year from 2008 to the present, and been included in Best Lawyers in America each year since 2014.
