BEAVERCREEK, OH, July 19, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert W. Gladden with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Gladden celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Accruing 36 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Gladden is currently the vice president for enterprise analytics at Highmark Health since 2017 and also the chief executive officer and owner of Front Edge Analytics LLC since 2016. He began his professional career as an actuarial research analyst for the Blue Cross of Northwest Ohio in Toledo in 1983, remaining in this position for two years before directing the actuarial services section of Co-Med Inc. in Dublin, Ohio, from 1985 to 1987. Serving as senior vice president of research and analysis at McNerney Heintz Inc. in Barrington, Illinois, from 1987 to 1993, he held the role of executive director of managed care numerics at Lutheran General Health Care in Park Ridge, Illinois, from 1993 to 1996. Prior to fulfilling his current roles, Mr. Gladden was an executive of Ernst & Young in Chicago from 1996 to 1999, the assistant vice president of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare from 1999 to 2004 and the vice president of the center for analytics at CareSource from 2004 to 2016, where he also served as the CFO during a transition period of over a year.
The highlight of Mr. Gladden's career was when he built analytic teams inside of multiple companies that focused on meeting the organization's needs, but also challenged conventional thinking. This has included focusing on segmentation of members by common health needs and conditions instead of single disease focus, driving better visualization and storytelling to communicate results of advanced analytics, and establishing analytic tools as operations-focused instead of one-off IT implementations. Mr. Gladden also focused on building the next generation of leaders through multiple coaching, mentoring, and guidance programs, and drove results in multiple organizations around particularly difficult, complex problems that seemed insurmountable at times.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Mr. Gladden pursued a formal education at West Liberty University in West Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1981. Following this accomplishment, he went on to attend Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where he obtained a Master of Arts in 1983. Throughout his career, he has held a number of health care leadership positions that span the breadth of the industry, including health plans, health systems, consulting firms and management companies. His passion is focused towards creative and innovative advanced analytic solutions that can breathe new insights into an organization. The key to success is "telling the story" of analytic discoveries and translating the findings into actions, which can then be embedded into business operations.
Active in his local community, Mr. Gladden served as treasurer of the Beavercreek Music Parents Association and team business manager of Northwest Travelers Baseball. Additionally, he was a student fund accountant for the Palatine High School Music Department, the service unit cookie coordinator for the Girl Scouts of United States of America, and treasurer, director and soccer coach for the Palatine Celtic Soccer Club. Involved with the Boy Scouts of America as well, Mr. Gladden has served the organization in a number of roles including advancement chair, Cub Scout den leader, Cubmaster and committee member. Bob is currently serving on the Urban Pathways K-5 College Charter School Board, Pittsburgh Public School System, as the Treasurer.
Mr. Gladden has traveled this entire journey with his wife of almost 40 years, Jorja. They have five children, Teri Marie, Skylar Morgan, Corey William, Sara Sylvia and Bridget Kay. They also have been blessed with two grandchildren so far, Logan and Ethan.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Gladden has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
