Additionally, he served as the manager and director of union relations for Chrysler Corporation and Daimler Chrysler Corporation and a consultant for the Orchard Lake branch of Palmer/Roe & Associates. Prior to joining Chrysler Corporation, he was an Assistant Secretary of State in Michigan and served on the staff of the Michigan House of Representatives.
Additionally, Mr. Palmer gained valuable expertise in varying roles with Chrysler Corporation between 1968 and 1992, including as the manager of human resources, a supervisor of personnel administration, a manager of union relations, the director of human resources and the manager of group human resources, procurement and supplier operations. Likewise, he contributed to the Allis-Chalmers Corporation as the manager of employee and community relations in La Porte, IN, and Independence, MO. Mr. Palmer also retains his professional affiliation with the Labor and Employment Relations Association, Alpha Sigma Nu and Beta Gamma Sigma.
A master conflict resolution specialist, Mr. Palmer earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Detroit in 1975. Over the years, he has also been granted member status in the labor and employment law, and the alternative dispute resolution sections, of the State Bar of Michigan. He continues as an arbitrator on grievance panels for the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). For years, he lectured at Oakland (MI) University. For his outstanding efforts in the field, he has been featured in Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. In his free time, Mr. Palmer loves spending time with his two daughters, Jennifer and Julianne.
