Having accrued more than 50 years of professional expertise, Mr. Glenn retired from his work with Glenn, Haigler & Maddox, with which he began in 1992. Throughout his affiliation, he specialized in numerous areas of the legal field, including personal injury, real estate, business law, family law, criminal defense, workers' compensation, and more. Previously, he gained valuable expertise in private practice in Anderson, South Carolina between 1983 and 1992 and as a partner with McIntosh, Threlkeld, Glenn & Sherard from 1978 until 1983.
Mr. Glenn worked as a county judge in Anderson County, South Carolina, between 1972 and 1978, shortly after being appointed as a partner with Fant, Doyle, Glenn & Vaughn from 1970 until 1972. His inaugural roles in the field were those of an associate for Watkins, Vandiver, Kirven, Long & Gable between 1965 and 1969 and with Robert N. Daniel, Junior in 1965. Throughout his career, Mr. Glenn has found success as a city recorder in Anderson, a member on the board on grievances and discipline of the South Carolina Supreme Court, and on the board of directors for The Palmetto Bank.
The son of Harland Douglas Glenn and Mildred Elizabeth, Mr. Glenn was the first in his family to attend college, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Furman University in 1962. He concluded his education in 1965, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Glenn was subsequently admitted to practice through the South Carolina Bar, the United States District Court of Appeals for the Armed Services, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Supreme Court of South Carolina, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
In order to network with other industry scholars, Mr. Glenn maintained affiliation with the Anderson County Young Lawyers Club, the Anderson County Bar Association and the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce. In civic affairs, he has contributed his time and resources through the Governor's Committee on Criminal Justice, Crime and Delinquency between 1979 and 1981. Moreover, Mr. Glenn has served on the board of directors for the South Carolina Department of Youth Services from 1981 until 1988, and was a member of the Anderson-Oconee Alcohol and Drug Commission in the early-1980s.
Mr. Glenn has been awarded on numerous occasions for his outstanding accomplishments. In addition to being a Fellow Emeritus, American College of Trial Lawyers, he has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the South and Southwest. In 1962, Mr. Glenn was privileged enough to marry the love of his life, Sue Ann Flint. Together, they are the proud parents of Michael Douglas, Caroline Flint and Elizabeth Ilene.
