Mr. Snowiss has been a practicing attorney for more than 64 years. Upon earning his juris doctorate, he established his own private practice in his hometown of Lock Haven, which he maintained for five years between 1965 and 1970. He then began serving as partner at Lugg & Snowiss in Lock Haven, which then became Lugg, Snowiss, Steinberg & Faulkner in 1974 and has been Snowiss, Steinberg & Faulkner LLP since 1994. Serving multiple different counties, the firm focuses much of its practice on corporate law, municipal bonds, real estate, probate, estate planning, elder law, social security, and Medicare and Medicaid. Early in his career, Mr. Snowiss was also a solicitor for Clinton County in Lock Haven between 1964 and 1972.
Very active in his community, Mr. Snowiss is the former chair of the board and president of the Lock Haven Hospital. He is also a former member of the board of governors of the Clinton County Community Foundation in Lock Haven, the former advisory board chair and one of the founders of The Advisory Board at the Palmer Museum of Art at the Pennsylvania State University in University Park and the former vice president and board of trustees' member for 28 years of the Ross Library in Lock Haven. Furthermore, Mr. Snowiss served on the executive committee for the Republican State Committee of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg and as a state committeeman for the Clinton County Republican Committee as well.
An elected fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the American Bar Foundation, Mr. Snowiss is also a fellow and founding member of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, where he served on the board from 1984 to 1995. Additionally, he is a member and past president of the Clinton County Bar Association and his local Kiwanis, a member and former treasurer and board of governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and member of the American Bar Association and Masonic Lodge #1991, among other Masonic organizations.
Pursuing an education at the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Snowiss received a Bachelor of Arts in 1952 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1955. He was later awarded an honorary member of the Alumni Society at Pennsylvania State University in 1998. Mr. Snowiss has been licensed to practice law by the Pennsylvania Bar and has been admitted to practice by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of the United States.
