A retired U.S. Navy veteran and a nuclear master chief, Mr. Cook excels as the manager of emergency preparedness for Fluor Marine Propulsion LLC and the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, with which he also works as the principal compliance engineer. Previously, he served as a senior test operator for GSE Systems from 2016 until 2017, the S8G plant master chief for the U.S. Navy from 2012 until 2016. Prior to these appointments, Mr. Cook held the position of a command master chief for the Naval Education and Training Professional Development Center between 2009 and 2012.
Among Mr. Cook's inaugural positions in the field were those of a lead engineering officer of the watch and an engineering department master chief from 2004 to 2009. Upon delving into his family history, he found that nearly every generation held an individual who boasted that they'd fought for their country. For his outstanding work in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Cook has earned two Meritorious Service Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals, four Navy Achievement Medals, plus numerous other personal and unit awards.
In 2003, Mr. Cook earned a Bachelor of Science in human resources management from The New School. He subsequently received a Master of Business Administration in technology management with highest honors from Excelsior College in 2016, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration in organizational leadership from Northcentral University. Looking forward into the future, Mr. Cook aspires to work with a nonprofit and continue spending time with his wife, daughter and son.
