A California real estate broker since 1984, Mr. Wiedle is best known for the success of his real estate property management business, Fortune West Management, in Palm Desert. An accredited association management company established in 1989, he owned and operated the business for 14 years, selling it in 2003 upon his retirement. Fortune West Management specialized in common interest developments operating in Coachella Valley.
Leading a fulfilling career prior to entering the real estate arena, Mr. Wiedle became interested in city management while serving as study body treasurer in college. After securing an internship with the City of Long Beach, he subsequently graduated and became an administrative assistant and an assistant city manager for the City of Inglewood. Within several years, Mr. Wiedle was recruited for an executive director position with the Coachella Valley Association of Governments. Relocating to Palm Desert, he found success with the Association for 10 years. Mr. Wiedle likewise provided his expertise as a political science professor at the College of the Desert and as a consultant for various political organizations, businesses, and community groups throughout Riverside County between 1984 and 2010.
Upon retiring, Mr. Wiedle took on a new challenge. Becoming a certified deacon through the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod after two years of study, he began assisting a young pastor just out of the seminary. Working three days per week for seven years between 2005 and 2013, Mr. Wiedle never sought a salary.
Mr. Wiedle received a Bachelor of Arts at California State University in 1967. Upon his return from the war, he completed a Master of Arts from the University of Southern California in 1973. He also earned an Associate of Arts in Real Estate at the College of the Desert in 1975. Mr. Wiedle is a certified and professional manager of community associations, and is certified through the American Institute of Certified Planners. He notably served as a first lieutenant in the special forces in the U.S. Army between 1968 and 1970, during which he sustained gunshot and shrapnel wounds. In addition to receiving a Purple Heart for these injuries, he was presented with a Decorated Bronze Star for Valor and an Army Commendation for Valor in recognition of his leadership during combat operations.
Mr. Wiedle is a member and a past president of the Community Associations Institute. Among other professional organizations, he is a member of the Real Estate Educators Certificate Institute, the Board of Realtors of Palm Desert, the American Planning Association, the Western Governmental Research Association, and the California Association of Community Managers.
Involved with a broad range of civic organizations, Mr. Wiedle is a former state commander of the Disabled American Veterans, Department of California. He also served as the president of the Palm Desert Rotary Club. Throughout the past six years, he has volunteered his time leading Bible Study for Seniors in assisted living homes. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Wiedle has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who in the World.
