With nearly 50 years of professional experience to his credit, Dr. Brommer excelled as an instructor with Lutheran High School from 1955 to 1976. Prior to this position, he worked as an instructor with Saint Paul's School from 1948 to 1955. In addition to his academic roles, he has been independently active as an artist. Notably, Dr. Brommer's art has appeared in group exhibitions for the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, the National Academy of Design, and the Royal Watercolor Society.
Moreover, Dr. Brommer has had his artwork represented in the permanent collections of Claremont Colleges, Pacific Telesis, Epcot Center, Hilton Hotels, Inc., the Intercontinental Hotel, Harvey Mudd College, the Laguna Beach Museum of Art, the Springfield Art Museum, the TRW, the Coca Cola Company, and Concordia University. The author of numerous books in his areas of interest, he has edited several other books and videos. Dr. Brommer has helped design posters for schools as well.
Dr. Brommer initially pursued an education with Concordia College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1948. He continued his studies at the University of Nebraska, earning a Master of Arts in 1955. He subsequently completed postgraduate coursework with the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Southern California, the Otis Art Institute, and the Chouinard Art Institute. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Brommer concluded his academic efforts at Concordia University, Irvine, obtaining a Doctor of Letters in 1985.
Throughout his career, Dr. Brommer has been celebrated for his contributions to the field. He has accepted prizes from the American Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA, the LA City Art Festival, and the California State Fair. Likewise, Dr. Brommer has been featured in numerous publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the West.
