Dr. William Orris Houston is an elected follow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.

Now retired from a distinguished career as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Boise, Idaho, Dr. Houston spent 40 wonderful years in private practice until 2001. During his career, he was also affiliated as a staff member at the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise and served as a board member on their foundation. He was also affiliated with St. Luke's Boise Medical Center. Furthermore, Dr. Houston was a consultant in his field for the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center from 1961-2011.
Dr. Houston first studied at Saint Martin's University in Olympia, Washington, before acquiring a Doctor of Dental Surgery at Nebraska's Creighton University in 1955. Following his accomplishment, he notably served three years in the United States Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge, Dr. Houston completed post graduate coursework at the University of Pennsylvania and the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania and became a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
An elected follow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, Dr. Houston has also been affiliated with several other professional organizations. Some of these include the American Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Western Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Houston was elected as the charter President of the Idaho Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He was active with his local Rotary Club and received a Paul Harris Fellowship. Dr. Houston is a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus and he served the Boise community as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Boise Independent School District from 1972 – 1982.
In 1992, Dr. Houston received a St. George Medal from the American Cancer Society. He was also recognized as the Distinguished Citizen of the Week by the Idaho Statesman. He was later honored with the inaugural Distinguished Doctor of the Year Award from the St. Alphonsus Foundation in 2015. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been featured in the 56th editions of Who's Who in America and the second and third editions of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
