For more than 50 years, Mr. Simpson has excelled in private practice, providing legal services for more than 400 corporations, 200 limited liability companies and in excess of 2,000 other companies doing business in Iowa. Today, he also works as the president of Simpson, Jensen, Abels, Fischer & Bouslog PC. He began his career with Beving and Swanson, as well as Peddicord, Simpson & Sutphin. Over the years, he has found success as general counsel for the Governor of Iowa, as well as with the United States Army. He had accrued 30 years of experience in the military reserve as an Army Signal Corps officer in the Iowa National Guard as well as a Naval JAG reserve officer.
An expert in his field, Mr. Simpson pursued an education at Drake University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1960. He subsequently graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake University in 1963. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the Polk County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association and the American Humanist Association. During his spare time, he contributes to the less fortunate through the board of the Iowa Health System and Point Health Des Moines. Previously, Mr. Simpson provided his time and energy to the Broadlawns Medical Center, the Iowa Health Facilities Council, the Iowa Humanities Foundation and the Unitypoint Health Foundation.
