A native of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Dr. Wong arrived to the United States in 1973. In 1984, he graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science. Furthermore, Dr. Wong earned a Doctor of Medicine from the renowned institution in 1990. He is currently a board certified and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Wong began his career as the chief resident for the department of family medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, between 1992 and 1993. Soon thereafter, he served the PCA Family Health Plan, Inc. as a medical director from 1993 to 1995. Since 1995, Dr. Wong has excelled as the founder and the chief executive officer and medical director of the Doctors Plus Medical Center in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
In addition to his primary responsibilities, Dr. Wong worked as the chairman of quality assurance for Genuine ACO. He additionally participated on the board of directors for the Broward County Medical Association. Moreover, Dr. Wong has found success as a voluntary clinical assistant professor of family medicine at the Miller School of Medicine with the University of Miami. He is also founding member and director of premier MD IPA and Premiere MD VI Healthcare LLC.
Dr. Wong truly enjoys teaching future doctors and practitioners, some of whom have become educators themselves, which is among his career highlights. Above all, teaching the human touch of medicine has been a fulfilling experience for him. Furthermore, Dr. Wong is credited as the founder of the Empowerment Platform for Asian American Leaders of Tomorrow, a non-profit organization with the intention of bringing young Asian-American minds together in a mentorship-based program to help create leaders of the future.
To remain aware of developments in the field, Dr. Wong maintains his professional ties with the American Medical Association, the American Academy for Family Physicians, the Florida Medical Association, and the Broward County Medical Association (secretary and Board Director).
