FREDERICKTOWN, OH, July 27, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jeffrey Charles Reichwein with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Jeffrey Charles Reichwein celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
From a formative age, Dr. Reichwein has fostered a passion for history and archaeology. In his childhood, his father and grandfather were active in commercial real estate, through which they and other investors purchased Johnson's Island in Ohio with the intent to turn it into a resort community. When he and his family toured the island, Dr. Reichwein was able explore remnants from the Civil War's largest confederate officers prison and discovered many artifacts, an experience which piqued his interest in his current field.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Reichwein earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in Anthropology from Miami University. Beginning his career at Cuyahoga Community College, he subsequently worked and studied at the Ohio State University before obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology. Having acquired his doctorate degree, Dr. Reichwein excelled as the first and only archaeologist for the Ohio State Department of Natural Resources for more than two decades. Prior to his tenure at state archaeologist he had over 8 ½ years teaching at several Ohio colleges and universities.
In addition to his primary responsibilities, Dr. Reichwein has also contributed his consulting services in many capacities. He has previously served as a visiting instructor at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, as a tribal archaeologist for the Colville Confederated Tribes in Nespelem, Washington, and as an administrative assistant for the American Civil Liberties Union in Cleveland, Ohio. Furthermore, he is the author of such published works as "Emergence of Native American Nationalism in the Columbia Plateau" and "The Johnson's Island Corporation." His Ph.D. dissertation was selected for inclusion with 31 others out of 1,500 Anthropology dissertations in the Garland Press 1990 "Evolution of Native Americans" publication.
In his spare time, Dr. Reichwein currently enjoys hiking, canoeing, movies, fencing, and art collecting. In order to remain aware of the development of his field, he maintains affiliation with the American Civil Liberties Union, the Ohio Archaeology Council, and Phi Kappa Phi. As a testament to professional dedication, Dr. Reichwein, a lifelong member of The Ohio Archaeological Council (1975-present), established the Native American Concerns Committee and the Fieldwork Scholarship program. He also was instrumental in establishing, and serving as chair, the first statewide AFSCME-OCSEA Scholarship Committee for union members and their dependents during his tenure at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Jeffrey Charles Reichwein has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
