STIRLING, ON, August 05, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna Bonin has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With many years of experience to her credit, Donna Bonin has excelled as an artist, a watercolor instructor at Loyalist College, and the owner of the Back-in-Time Gallery since 2000. She is renowned for her artwork composed of watercolor, oil, and pastel paintings which depict a number of subjects and for her abstract designs. Additionally, she has worked as the leader of traveling art workshops across North America and Europe, including in Portugal, France, Spain, British Columbia, and the Greek Islands, among other locales. Prior to becoming an artist, Ms. Bonin began her career as a secondary school physical education teacher, and a professional equestrian, eventually retiring from these positions after unfortunately contracting Guillain-Barre Syndrome in 1990.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Bonin pursued an education at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in history and English in 1969. Having become paralyzed following her experience with Guillain-Barre, she recalled her fondness of drawing during her youth and completed coursework in watercolor painting at a local community college. In addition to her formal training, Ms. Bonin was inspired by her father and her late husband, both of whom were award-winning oil painters. They fostered her passion for the arts. Workshops with master watercolorists Tom Lynch, and Margaret Roseman inspired her to adopt watercolor as her medium of choice.

A visiting art professor who has been invited to LeMonastere in Limoux, France, bi-annually on seven occasions, Ms. Bonin has had her work exhibited at a number of galleries around the world, including those in New York, Miami, Cannes, Brussels, Vienna, Paris, Florence and Montreal. Likewise, her work has been featured in her own gallery, the Back-in-Time Gallery, and her workshops are often booked up to two years in advance due to their immense popularity. Among her many showcases, Ms. Bonin most fondly recalls being selected by the National Society of Beaux Arts of France (SNBA) to represent Canada in their exhibition at the Louvre, an incredible honor which subsequently led to her work being featured in the SNBA's annual show in the years since.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Bonin remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has maintained her involvement with ArtTour International, Artist's Info, Farscec International and the Vivid Arts Network. Ms. Bonin is also an active contributor to Create for Peace, Arts Quinte West, and the Belleville Art Association.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Bonin has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. Between 2015 and 2019, she was recognized among the Top 60 Masters of Contemporary Art by ArtTour International. She was notably presented with an ARTYA Award in 2018 for her featured work in the "Art for a Green Planet" show in New York. Moreover, Ms. Bonin has been selected for multiple awards from juried shows for her use of color, composition, thematic presentation, and as the juror's choice.

Always open to new ideas and opportunities for inspiration, Ms. Bonin attributes her success to her unshakeable perseverance, her motivation to expand her artistic horizons, and her allowance for her paintings to "speak." She considers earning the respect of her peers and students to be the most rewarding aspect of her career. Looking toward the future, Ms. Bonin aspires to find further success as a painter, teacher, and traveler while slowing down her professional efforts in the years to come.
