A graduate of New England Law, Boston, Attorney Rabchenuk is admitted to practice before many state and federal courts including the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States Court of International Trade. Attorney Rabchenuk was awarded an Alcoa Fellowship to attend the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his Master's Degree and also earned a Certificate in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.
Attorney Paul Thomas Rabchenuk is a 19 year member of the Political Science faculty at Salem State University. He previously taught at North Shore Community College, Suffolk University and Boston State College, now University of Massachusetts, Boston. In addition to his law practice and teaching experience, he served as North Reading, MA Town Administrator and Saugus, MA Town Manager.
Most recently and for the past nineteen years he has been a devoted advocate for genocide education. He made many presentations to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Joint Committee on Education of the Massachusetts Legislature to make his case for including the study of Genocide in the World History curriculum frameworks of the Commonwealth. During December of 2018, his efforts proved successful.
He also lobbied the Massachusetts State Legislature and had written proposed legislation to make the study of Genocide public policy.
In his capacity as Chairman of the Boston Committee to Commemorate the Ukrainian Famine Genocide of 1932 - 1933, the Holodomor he has traveled throughout the New England Region, New York and Washington, D.C. to present at conferences and other groups including the New England Conference of Social Studies Teachers and advocacy groups including Facing History and Ourselves and Victims of Communism Foundation in Washington, D.C. He is a featured speaker for the Annual Walk Against Genocide in Boston sponsored by the Massachusetts Coalition to Save Darfur. He is working closely with the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Salem State University as they promote their program of genocide studies. He has personally donated books about the Holodomor, the Ukrainian Famine Genocide, to the center's library.
Attorney Rabchenuk received an Official Citation from the Massachusetts State Senate recognizing him for his advocacy for the inclusion of genocide study in the State curriculum and for presenting on the need for Genocide education at Salem State University. Salem State University has established the Paul Thomas Rabchenuk Scholarship Fund in his honor for the study of Genocide and Political Science.
In 2018, he was presented the City of Salem, Massachusetts Seal in recognition of his numerous civic contributions especially in promoting genocide education throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He was the subject of many articles and features including "Your Witness," a personal profile article appearing in Suffolk University Alumni Magazine and "Curriculum Legislation: How Do They Do That?" an interview with Visiting Political Science Professor Paul Thomas Rabchenuk, MPA, JD, CAGS appearing in Salem State University's School of Education publication SPEAK.
