A prominent attorney with more than 30 years of experience in the field of law, Mr. Altman has been working in the Law Office of Evan M. Altman since 1989, where he focuses his practice on bankruptcy, business litigation, business disputes, general litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability and products liability. A former Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, prior to starting his law practice, he uses his wealth of knowledge to closely investigate each case in an effort to garner optimal results. Mr. Altman believes that communication is of the utmost importance, and he strives to communicate effectively with his clients during each step of the legal process.
Prior to founding his own private practice, in addition to his time with Federal Bureau of Investigation, Mr. Altman was an assistant vice president for the Carter Organization, a corporate consulting firm located on Wall Street where his primary responsibilities included overseeing more than 100 corporate reorganization and governance transactions of publicly-held corporations. He is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia, where he is a member of the bankruptcy law section and was asked by the President of the State Bar of Georgia to serve on the Fair Market Practices Committee where policies were implemented and enforced related to attorney/client disputes. Likewise, he is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and was a member of the Legal and Medical Liaison Committee. Notably, Mr. Altman was the chairman of the Atlanta, Chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI from 2000 to 2001.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Altman pursued his formal education at the State University of New York at Binghamton, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1979. He also received an honors certificate in the Law and Society Program. He went on to attend Emory University School of Law, receiving a Doctor of Law in 1982. Mr. Altman has been admitted to practice in Georgia the District of Columbia and New Jersey as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, the Supreme Court of Georgia and the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.
Equally passionate about his community, Mr. Altman was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, a Red Cross water safety instructor, and a member of the Atlanta Men's Senior Baseball League. Earlier in his career, he was appointed as an attorney in the Fulton County Juvenile Court, where he handled cases on behalf of indigent clients. In light of his exceptional accomplishments in law, he has achieved an AV-Rating through Martindale-Hubbell. He was named to Georgia Trend Magazine's Legal Elite in 2016 and was also has been listed in the publication entitled Georgia's Top-Rated Lawyers as part of the National Law Journal. A New York City native, Mr. Altman is the proud father of three children and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
