In addition to his exemplary live performances, Mr. Cupp has garnered praise in such films as "Dracula Now," in which he acted in the titular role, and "HAVEN," a post-apocalyptic thriller.
Moreover, Mr. Cupp has built his profile as a public figure in reality television, as he was the subject and the star of the series "Dance Dream," which was broadcasted internationally in over 45 countries. For his participation in "Dance Dream," he was nominated for a Star on the Latin American Walk of Fame in Mexico City in 2015. Following this program, Mr. Cupp produced his own reality series, "Ballroom Revolution," which is currently available on-demand on Vimeo.com.
Beyond his primary responsibilities as a performer and a mentor, Mr. Cupp has been further active in entertainment as a promoter, having dedicated his efforts toward the promotion of multiple brands and motion pictures. Notably, his studio was selected to promote the perfume "Mambo," which was launched by the iconic fashion designer and entrepreneur Liz Claiborne in 2001. Likewise, Mr. Cupp continues to promote his own unique line of custom bracelets titled "The Ballroom Collection," which offers a variety of unisex wearable jewelry named after a number of popular ballroom dances.
Mr. Cupp has established himself as a musician in recent years as well, releasing his debut EP in 2016. Remarkably, his extended play was produced by legendary record producer and bass player Warren McRae, who has collaborated with the likes of Tina Turner, Patti LaBelle, and Joe Cocker. Mr. Cupp's EP included the single "Dance Like Nobody's Watching," which has been downloaded, streamed, and played in over a dozen countries.
Since 2009, Mr. Cupp has flourished as the owner of Darren's Ballroom Dance Studios, in which he parlays his monumental expertise in his craft to aspiring dancers in Carmel. Mr. Cupp is an active member of the National Dance Council of America.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Cupp has accrued several accolades throughout his career. In 2019, he was recognized by the Superstars Dancesport Championships as the Top Instructor as well as the Top Studio for Darren's Ballroom Dance Studios. He was also honored as a Top Instructor at the 2016 Grand Nationals. Significantly, Mr. Cupp was selected as the Best of Carmel for Dance Instruction annually between 2014 and 2019.
