ZEPHYRHILLS, FL, August 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Marielle E. King with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. King celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. King is an independent researcher, a writer and poet, a retired secondary school educator and an ongoing online educator, comprising a total of over 50 years of combined teaching experience.
As an innovative educational entrepreneur, she uses poetry to teach online at allchildrenRgifted.org, a research-based foundational reading program. She feels that the empowerment of the reading skill worldwide could/would facilitate world peace.
She was inspired by her compassionate journalist parents, superb teachers, encouraging family doctor, as well as many Nobel Prize winning laureates. In particular she remembers her mother helping Jewish children escape Hitler's horrendous holocaust by sending them to London, but without their parents!
Ms. King's education spanned 3 countries including the Netherlands, Canada, and the United States of America. She earned an Associate of Arts from Saint Petersburg Junior College in Saint Petersburg, Florida in 1968. She continued her studies at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in 1970.
Her ongoing studies in Metaphysics, through the Unity School of Practical Christianity (et al) resulted in a Master of Transcendental Divinity (Mtd - a transcendental degree) in 1976.
Prior to teaching Ms. King worked in several paramedical fields both in Canada and in the USA.
Her expertise areas ranged from Medical Insurance in Toronto, Ontario, Canada circa 1964 and 1965 (witnessed the public insurance takeover in Canada - very enlightening), Vestibular Technologist at Toronto General Hospital in 1966, admission to Medical School at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1965, to Medical Technologist (MT-ASCP) through Bayfront Medical Center, Saint Petersburg, Florida, 1975-1976.
Ms. King also wrote a column, "Healthy by Choice", for the Co-op Consciousness newspaper in Tampa, Florida and edited the advertising department, circa 1982.
Areas in which she has taught include the Sciences, Mathematics, Health, CPR, Drug Education, Sex Education, Dropout Prevention, ILAP (Intensive Learning Alternative Program - developed curriculum), Special Education (developed Reading curriculum), Adult Education: Medical Terminology, and developed curriculum for How to Become an American Citizen (developed curriculum). Florida Professional Teaching Certificate areas on retiring included: Biology, Chemistry, Health, Mathematics, General Science, and Middle Grades Endorsement.
Ms. King taught most of 1970 to 2000 in various public schools in Florida. Her very first assignment was during the first year of integration of the public schools in Pinellas County, although the Supreme Court issued its Brown versus the Board of Education ruling in 1954, the separate is not equal ruling. She felt she was honored to be part of that necessary, albeit difficult history, and that the students of this transition were wonderful and so very bright!
She taught in Pinellas County, based in Largo, Florida, 1970-1974, serving as department chair in her fourth year.
She taught in Pasco County, based in Land O' Lakes, Florida from 1977-1979, which also included the Adult Education previously mentioned.
Hillsborough County, based in Tampa, Florida, was the longest teaching assignment from 1979 to 2000, her public-school retirement year. She spent two of her years teaching Special Education and noticed that a considerable percentage of her students had a history of head injuries.
While retiring from public school teaching, on July 4, 2000, Ms. King (CEO) founded a Florida not-for-profit corporation, All Children 'R' Gifted, Inc., which went online as allchildrenRgifted.org. The free online site complements the reading experience for those struggling with the language for whatever reason. It is quasi-interactive, benefits from mentorship and focuses on research-based sight word recognition. The pace is best at one new word per day. The website is poetically formatted.
She has found this endeavor very personally rewarding and is planning more curriculum development. She wants to help make America even greater by teaching not only how to read better but also how to budget better.
She feels the internet is the quintessential tool to help provide (E.O.A.) Equal Opportunity Access to education. See E.O.A. poem in book below.
The first printing of Ms. King's poetry book, All Children 'R' Gifted, was in 2005 (Amazon poetry books) depicting empowerment through education and giving voice to the feelings of students and teachers alike. She asserts that this short collection of poems is destined to change education forever! Yes, there is hope - great hope- for the present and for the future! Please read her lead poem, Regaining the Right ...
She also wrote a ballad, Labels, Labels, based on her cover poem:
Don't ever give them labels that set them apart,
Don't ever give them labels that tear at the heart
