Dr. Khan is an accomplished gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist who has enjoyed several noteworthy roles as a medical doctor and educator since entering the field. Upon completing his residency, he began his career as an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 2006, before teaching at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston between 2010 and 2012. He has since joined the Houston Methodist Hospital, where he specializes in such areas as advanced liver disease and transplantation, colon cancer, Chron's disease, GI disease, nutrition and obesity, and endoscopy. Furthermore, Dr. Khan works in private practice in Baytown, Texas, as a part of Houston Methodist Gastroenterology Associates.

Prior to embarking on his career, Dr. Khan pursued an education at the Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan, where he earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2001. He subsequently completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston between 2003 and 2006. Following these accomplishments, he has pursued further training in gastroenterology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and in transplant hepatology at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Khan is board certified in transplant hepatology, gastroenterology and internal medicine.
